MMA League Antrim wound up being a small leg in the 2006 series, but this didn't reduce the enthusiasm of the spectators or the tenacity of the fighters at the event. The Antrim 2006 held up the League traditions of providing a fun environment for new comers to Mixed Martial Arts to have a go. The Antrim crowd was particularly vocal at this event getting behind their local fighters with great gusto.

The League in Antrim couldn't have happened without the help of the following people and I want to thank them sincerely -

Greg Loughran and Jonny Doey - for acting as usher's and to Jonny and his wife Joanne for putting me up for the weekend and making me feel so welcome in their home.
Peter Lavery - refferee extraordinaire, Trevor - cameraman, Davey Paterson for getting me hooked up with the Antrim Forum, Padraic "Superman" Merlehan - time/score keeping, and of course to all the fighters and fans that came along with such a positive attitude that keeps the league going from strength to strength, and lastly our sponsors Fighting Ireland.

In MMA, as with any sport, the risk of injury is always there and unfortunately Andreas picked up a particularly nasty one on Saturday, breaking his arm. I think I speak for everyone at the League when I say our best wishes are with you Andreas and wish you the speediest possible recovery.
