Greetings and salutations, True Believers-In! While attending the gala "gig" of some friends of mine at the Little Havana cocktail bar in Portlaoise recently, I noticed some rather strange light anomalies, or "orbs" while taking photographs of the band. I took several pictures throughout the course of the evening and observed a definite pattern in their appearances, in that it seemed as though they would only manifest while the band were performing. This was not an isolated incident, however, as about a month later while also in attendance at another of their concerts - this time the Music Factory in Carlow - the same phenomenon occurred yet again (and in case you're wondering , it's not a case of my camera being on the fritz, it has been tested and works perfectly in all conditions). On this occasion the anomalies became more "fixated" on two gentlemen on the dancefloor rather than the band members, but once again ceased activity when the music stopped.

( Oh yes, the band in question are Nova Static. They're frightfully good!)

I wouldn't get overly excited. Orbs appear to be simple a phenomenon associated with digital cameras and dark lighting conditions

Yeah i tend only to get excited by orbs if they go hand-in-hand with "feelings" or if they are taken in an area with a reputation.

No thats not to say that orbs taken in everyday circumstances are not paranormal but i personally couldnt approach someone and say that they are.

Like Grimes says, they are a very simple and common accurance, especially when a flash is used with a digital camera. When you say it happen only when music was playing then concider that people would be moving around alot more during the music and kicking up dust (or people shaking themselves around and flickin sweat all over the places ;)).
