tiny component broken in Canon Ixus 500

    Hi,

I dropped my Canon digital IXUS 500 this weekend and damaged the Compact Flash door. There's a tiny piece of plastic moulding (less than 3mm) which projects from the door flap and mates with the corresponding catch on the camera chassis. It is easy to dismantle, I've already taken it apart and reassembled it.

My question is this, where can I just get the part, as opposed to sending the camera off to Canon and paying through the nose to have this tiny (and I mean tiny) problem fixed. Knowing that Canon can be awkward in this respect, is there somewhere I can order Canon parts?

In the meantime, I can just tape the door closed and the camera works fine as it is.

    Thanks in advance,

    hc
