Who remembers 'Super Cans'?!? Big cans of your fav soft drinks.

Longish, current beer can size if I remember correctly.

    Bring back the super cans!!

I always bring up Super Cans when having nostalgia related conversations with my friends.I can barely remember them, though I'm fairly certain you could get club orange in them.

I wonder if theres any photos online, they were so cool!

They were great indeed, never enough in those smaller ones. Bring them back I say!

I imagine they were replaced by bottles, which I find a lot more practical and always buy instead of a can.

Good point, I'm quite foolish when I buy a can and the end up not wanting to finish it until later on. Silly Ruu. :(

Yes I do! Not sold here anymore except stores that import from the UK. Boots in the Jervis SC sell it and I make a trip especially for 12 bottles every month :D

Oh, thought Coke had decided to ditch Cherry Coke around 1985. Actually, that was the year they changed the normal Coca Cola recipe but it proved extremely unpopular so they had to go back to the old formula. Don't remember that.

I love Cherry Coke, and I go to Boots in the Jervis everytime I can to get a few bottles of it.

    Here is a supercan.

Where, for God's sake, man, WHERE? Don't hold out on us like that! The location of where these gigantic cans of fizzy, tooth-rotting goodness can be bought is vital information that should be shared with everybody! :D Knowing my luck, though, it'll probably turn out that your brother-in-law bought it up North or whilst on holidays in Spain or Uzbekistan or somewhere far flung and obscure like that and not here in the Republic. :(

I've been longing for a supercan ever since they took them off the market and replaced them with those crappy bottles. I don't care what anyone says, you can argue with me all you want, but the simple fact is Coke just doesn't taste the same out of a bottle as it does out of a can.

Ah, I fondly remember the days of going to see the Sunday afternoon matinee in the local cinema with my mates and we'd all stop off at a shop on the way down to buy a supercan of Coke, a big packet of Perri popcorn and a 10p sweet mix and then sneak them into the cinema (hell, we weren't going to pay for their overpriced popcorn and drinks! Wish we could do the same nowadays but the ba$tards who run the cinemas nowadays are just too clever.).

Saw all manner of super cans in New York recently.

While Cherry Coke is indeed great, avoid Diet Cherry Coke like the proverbial plague. I got some recently & it's absolutely disgusting.

I couldn't agree more I hate coke out of a bottle - has to be a can. Never really drank the supercans but thought they were cool at the time. I used to always get the Smack cans, anyone remember these?

Also we used to sneak stuff into the cinema (well we used to call it the pictures back then!) too. You'd get a lot of stuff if you had punt to spend. I remember when I was around 8 which was 1983 and we'd get 50p each and we'd be rich!

yeah supercans ruled!!! As did Cherry Cola, and there is a shop on lower abbey street that sells it, or did. Very expensive though.

But i have to say, my recent trip to the states, where an abundance of cherry coke is available, i found myself sticking with Dr Pepper.. aww yeah, that's some good ****

Man I'd love a supercan. I think they're trying to phase normal cans out now aswell(coke mini and all that?)
It just isn't the same from a bottle as it is from a can

On a slightly related tangent, does anyone remember the 250ml non-contour bottles of Coke that used to be available in the shops? I saw a bunch of them in a petrol station in Laois this monday, brought back a flood of memories it did...
