    Hi,
I am having a few problems with my Inspiron 9300, the first problem is with images viewed though internet explorer...they appear fuzzy (pixelated) and square around the edges. I recall a thread a few months back were someone had the same problem (I think there was link to a fix)...but I cant seem to find it though searching.

The second problem is to do with the compatiability of my ISDN modem and XP (Media Ed.). When I go to install the drivers for the modem a warning appears telling me that this software isnt XP logo certified, and it recomends that I dont install it. I have tried a few drivers fom the net and all are described as being XP compatible.

All your help and suggestions are appricated.

The first problem is to do with the dpi:

Right click anywhere on the destop go to properties>settings>advanced

Under the "general" tab and in the "Display" section change the value for dpi to 96. That should solve the problem.

Afraid I dont know how to solve the second problem though

Edit: Actually the second problem is probably that the drivers arent whql certified. People often use beta drivers for video cards, sound cards etc that arent certified.
Does the modem work with the drivers?

Whats the make and model of your ISDN modem?

Thanks, that has solved the graphic problem.

The ISDN modem is a Hayes Accura USB 128 TA
    Model No. is 08-15710-A
The Windows driver version is V. 3.09A

...EDIT...Ive finally found the Hayes products hidden away on the Zoom website, Ive downloaded and tried what appears to be the latest version of the drivers (USB325DRV), but the problem is still there, not passed by XP Logo.

    Thanks for helping

Just install driver anyway. I use non WHQL drivers for my gfx card and soundcard and never have a prob. Just means that Microsoft haven't tested the driver, doesn't mean it wont work. It more than likely is fine.
I've got this warning turned off in driver signing. Its just a warning.
Just use the driver that the manufacturer recommends and you'll be fine.

Becareful about those ISDN modems, especially if they came from eircom. I was doing some work with Eircom once and out of about 14 modems they use only about 3 of them were compatible with XP, but they send them to cutomers anyway.
