U know I can't see that not taking off, sterile as it is. The savings in tips and probably rake if they lower it as there's no dealer and the fact that more hands will be played which the better players at the table should want so their edge shows through will be too much to resist.

still question ... how do you keep you cards private ?

I read about these tables in poker Europa a few months back. Ur cards only appear when u put ur hands over the screen so once u take them away, ur cards disappear!

i dunno, i think people will miss the tradition of it.
perhaps in the same way that four colour decks never took off. (in brick and mortar casinos)

Aye, I certainly would miss playing with chips and firing cards at the muck but I just know that if i walked into the Fitz now and they had a normal table and one of these with half the rake, no dealer to tip and quicker hands I would go straight to that one.

These have been around for quite a while... But I can't see them catching on. It would feel too much like the internet.

    LOL - Ahem!

I guess what I meant to say was.... That if you're going to go to all the bother of playing poker on what amounts to a video game... why bother leaving your nice comfy home. You can play on the internet in your jimjams.

Live poker isn't just about the game. It's the social interaction - and I think computer screens and looking at an image on a table would reduce that interaction. Certainly tells would be harder to spot... Half of the game is looking at how people play with their chips, how they look at their cards. How they throw their chips in. What they do with their hands when they're playing. All sorts.

For players who play the player it'll be a disaster. For players who play the cards it'll probably be better.
