help on user switching

    Hi found out my user switching no longer works. Go into user a/c & tick box for fast switching. Still does not work & when I go back in again the tick has gone from the box. Any idea's? Using xp pro on old P3. Thanks John

    You haven't changed the amount of RAM in the system by any chance ?

    Or the computer is part of a network domain ?

    Also go to Control panel->Administrative Tools->Services & make sure that the "Terminal Service" and is running and set to automatic.

    Change anything in the computer recently ?

    What you could also do but a bit drastic is disable fast user switching then delete the other accounts and re-enable it and see if that resets it.

    Or try a system restore to a point when it last worked.

    Hi 8T8, you were spot on regarding the above. "Terminal Service" was disabled, Enabled same & all working again. Many thanks for such a fast & helpfull reply. Give that man a pint! Thanks again ,John
