The following ever happen to you?

I'm in Galway for the week, racing and enjoying the spectacular nightlife (nowhere, and I mean nowhere, in Ireland parties as hard as Galway during July and August) and was aware of Pokerevents two Race Week Freezeouts out in the Westwood, last night was a 400+40 FO and tonight was a 270+30 FO. I was thinking of playing the 270+30, and my father very generously offered buy 1/2 the action off me for 200, so all I'd have to stump up is the remaining 100.
I drove out to the Westwood, and decided not to register until the very last moment, to see exactly how many runners had turned up. While I was waiting for the off (things were a little delayed), I found myself gradually wondering whether I should bother playing or not and getting more annoyed at how drunk some of the other players were (obviously some good results out at the course!). So when it finally came down to it, despite the great structure, despite the weeklong famine of live poker and despite only having pay 100 to play a 300 game, I turned around and drove home. The fact that some mates are out drinking and that I can meet them later is a factor, but the strange thing is I just lost interest in playing tonight over the course of 30 minutes or so!
Tell me I'm not crazy, please.

You obviously didn't feel like playing poker Paul and so decided not to blow the cash. Yours or your Dads it doesn't matter. In fact playing with someojne else bankrolling you can make you more disciplined I find.

I have on a very rare occasions decided not to play cards having made my way to the casino and its probably something I should do more often. I vote you aren't losing your marbles!! :p
