I know its vrt free, and that i get charged 50 euro for the plate. Are there any other hidden charges. I assume tax is 50 euro per year too.
If I bring in a 1976 car, will they take into consideration the month of first registration. Si if i bring in a november 1976 car, i really should wait til december to present it. Any help appreciated.

Yes they will consider the month so wait 'till it is definitely over 30 and ensure you have the relevant paperwork t0o prove that !

    Tax €42 p/a.

And as MercMad says - actual date in the year of first registration is the one to watch, though you can lay the car up till then if needs be.

    Still trying to decide between a 1988testarossa in blue, a 1897 red 328, and a 1976 red fibreglass 308.
The 12k vrt on the testa/328 is really putting me off. So a vrt free 308 would be lovely :D

I'd go for that for rarity value alone!

    hey

defo the 308, as you said this is first toe in the Ferrari pond, it won depreciate so I'd go with that and if all is good in Ferrari land get the 'rossa later.

you'll have to grow a 'tache though

    ya lucky sod

    it'll be your choice

if the car is over 30 years and qualifies for the 50 quid VRT then you can have the 76-D or a ZV plate, ZV and 5 digits.

either way you dont need to have the "euro" plates

I got a 4 digit ZV plate in Dublin a few months back !! :D

The 5 digit looks poxy ! I was prepared to register it in any County so I could get a 4 digit one but when I went up with all the stuff and asked, the next up was a 4 digit so I did it there and then !
