    HI lads,

I am going into my last year of college in september, and want to do a final year project on PLCs as this is the area i would like to eventually get a career in.
I was just wondering if anybody knows where on the net i could get a PLC simulator, i downloaded a good one called logixpro but know it is looking for a license key, does anybody know of a decent free simulator i could try?

Or if there is anybody that is good at cracking codes that would be BRILL, here is the link http://thelearningpit.com/lp/buyakey.asp?

    thanks lads

You know, you were doing so well until the key crack request. And for what? Thirty sodding dollars.

You could have possibly gotten the college to acquire a copy for you since it would have been a necessary part of your project. Or hell, if you're so interested in persuing it as a career you could have even (gasp!) splashed out yourself since you think so highly of it.

But no, another cheap git requesting a key crack.

I've only really used festo PLCs, their so easy to use its a joke! But they have a sim programe I think. Another programe called logixRX (i think) These companys charge an arm and a leg though and have completely different ways of programing there controllers.

At the end of the day the simulators next to usless, you need a working machine to really see when your programe falls on it's ass.

I'm almost sure some companys do a student version of their software too (cheeper), it's been a while since I had to do anything with PLCs so I can't even remember the names of the different companys but with a bit of help from google I'm sure you'll find something. Search for festo there fairly big and you should get adds for there competition.
