I won the auction for a phone from this seller.
I was convinced at first by the positive feedback , but after givin it a closer look
    few things putted me off.
One of this is the fact that some buyers left feedbacks saying stuff like
excellent payment which normally a seller would leave.
    altough other feedbacks seem alright.
if he was a scammer he would definetly take a lot of work to build that amount of feedbacks, its just that a few dont make sense.

also he doesnt accept paypal , which is not a prob for me since i know many honest ppl dont really like paypal, but that feedback thing is putting me off

    what do u think

"No bidders from nigeria", how nice of him. :) It doesn't look too bad apart from the lack of Paypal.

i know what u mean, that nigeria thing means absolutely nothing as he could still be a scammer.
what do u think of those feedbacks saying excellent payment from buyers,
    dont they seem dodgy?

I reckon it looks okay. You won the item, yes? Has he contacted you or have you contacted him regarding the payment (at least to see what kind of a response time he has to his emails).

i did contact him but he is quite slow answering emails.
im not sure wether to go for a cheque or bank transfer since
if anything goes wrong the money is lost in both cases.

wouldnt worry about the nigeria thing.
everyone in the uk puts that up.

everyone in the uk is a lazy **** to reply to ebay questions.
if youve bid and won youve got to pay or else face an npb.

ive sent cash in the post to ebayers before.
it usually takes them ages to send the item but they all have.

the only thing you can do is send by registered post and start emailing them once receipt is confirmed

to be honest i would rather get a ban for not paying rather than lose 400 euro,
    but anyway
i think i ll go ahead with the transaction as i have no real evidence that he is a scammer,
i was just trying to see what other ppl tought about this guy and his feedback

    feedback looks fine to me.
how long have you got to pay?
find a reputable person on his list and ask how they paid/how long it took if your worried about that.

it says 24 hrs but i d say i have a few days considerin i would have to post it to him. i think i ll follow ur advise and ask a few ppl on his feedback list

that seller still hasnt replied to my emails askin in which currency he wanted me to pay him, and its not a matter of not having the time to check them
because after i sent my emails he placed for sale other 2 phones so it would have taken no time to answer me.

i really dont understand certain ppl, if i have to send money to a total stranger
the least he could do is answer my emails..

There is no way in hell i would send 400 quid in the post to some random i don’t know...even by registered post...are you all mad??? all he has to do is 'say yeah i received the letter but there was no cash in it!!!'...its just not worth it, at least if you pay by paypal or credit card you have some return...i know he is not offering that service - that to me would tell me DODGY!!!!

if you send a bank draft make sure and photocopy the front and back of it cos you will need it if you have to claim from ebay.

Bought a phone at the end of may and had good contact with the seller but same situation - no paypal. he sent me on his bank a/c details and everything but havent heard from him since. Have opened a dispute but he hasnt replied to it so I don't know what the story is. looks like he disappeared off the edge of the planet.

I have the stub of the draft and the receipt from the bank but didnt take a copy of it as was out of work on study leave at the time. Just hoping the bank can give me a copy or something so I can make the claim:(

tbh, I know its easy in hindsight but why did you bid in auction if you had doubts about the seller and especially if you had no ideas of how you were going to pay him - cash in the post is ok for a few quid but no way 400. Also its not just dodgy seller that can nick the money - Royal Mail have been know to have a few not so nice people who know what to look out for.

well cheque would have bein an option too, and i did bid because the feedback looked good and the auction style wasnt the usual scam .
but if the seller doesnt even reply my emails after i won the item or answer his phone,it makes it a lot harder for me to trust him and i could only find this out
after the end of the auction.
i dont believe that everyone who doesnt accept paypal is a scammer,
( i dont accept it either any more) but i think its up to the seller to gain the
buyer's trust and he obviously is not doin that.

at this stage i dont think i ll carry on with the transaction , i would end up goin trough a nightmare during the waiting time and its not worth it.
i might as well spend 30 euro more and use paypal with another seller , rather than riskin losing such a big amount.

i dont think he will leave a neg feedback tbh,
if he intends to do business without using paypal im sure he wants to keep
all his feedback positive , so he obviously wouldnt want a neg left by myself
