Have you tried adjusting your mouse settings in Control Panel?

Do you have it on a shiny surface. Put it on a dull surface or mat.

Yep I used to have an optical and kept forgetting to get a mousepad, that sorted out the crazy cursor.

I'm not sure if that will help or not. It could be a corrupt driver or a bad connection to the USB hub. Have you got a PS/2 port or just the USB?

This happens every so often with my mouse. It could be the surface your using shiny mousemats never worked for me. Even using the back of an A4 refil pad could improve things, that and make sure the lense is clean.

    changed to other mice.
    same problem with them?
