Has anybody bought a wifi radio receiver. I am desperate to get hold of one and free up my laptop. The IMP radio unit( http://www.buy4now.ie/3g/productdetail.aspx?pid=414&loc=P&catid=3.0:confused:  ) is available at the 3G stores but it cost €249 a small fortune. There must be equally good unit available at a more reasonable price, any pointers???

Linksys used to offer the WMLS11B. I don't know if it's still avaiable though - it's on their "Archived Products" page.

The Netgear MP101 might do the job.

I don't have any pointers for availability, though.

Thanks Foxwood, I have had a look at both. I still prefer the Imp for size and features, however at €249 it too expensive.

Anybody else using a compact wifi radio receiver???

I enjoy listening to web radio but have it only operating through a PC or my PDA. I listen to staions from the US and more often to Lite 98 out of Richmond VA.

But I have noticed that more US radio stations have been banned from broadcasting outside the States due to Licencing Regulations. You can only listen from outside the States if you are military serving overseas.

Does anyone know what is happening and if this will be the way of things to come?

A good source for US stations is http://radio.findanisp.com/streaming-radio.php?format=7&radio-format=Soft/Lite%20Rock
