Man I am going through a bad patch and it hurts. Anyway a story for your amusement. I had AA, KK AND KK again cracked last night. I know these are cracked alot of the time but with 83 and 57 its hard to take, thats twice, the third time I hit trip K's 3 diamonds on the board, I have k of diamonds too, raised to 35 by bloke next to me, I call, another caller, turn comes 7, check, I check another check. River comes 2, original raiser checks, Im havin a bad night so Im thinkin Im happy to take this, last fellow to act (who is on tilt) raises 50, man beside me calls, Im goin aw no,not again, there is 240ish in the pot, Im thinken and thinken, then fellow beside me who i considered a friend as i have played with him before and has been talking to me all night whispers in my ear, just to let u know I have the flush anyway. The man has seen me have two bad beats, he is my mate and is being nice (im thinken). Anyway i fold, tiltman mucks his cards, it was a last ditch bluff from him with his 50stack, fellow beside me goes to muck his cards when everyone says, u have to show ur hand, he reluctantly shows a pair of A's with a 9 kicker. What a wanker. How can I even look at that dood the same, he then starts being real nice to me afterwards. I feel like pukin, I know pot isnt a monster but the way it happened broke me heart. Bad poker ethic it i think, or is it good play by my opponent???

p.s I know i played this hand bad, you dont have to tell me, please consider Im having a bad night. But what about the bloke next to me whisperin I have the flush anyway, in the nice as pie im ur best mate voice, Arggggggh! Next time someone whispers in my ear when Im about to call, Im gonna deck them.

it is very definatly bad ettiquite...and, while the pot is not heads up, speach play is not allowed in the fitz. I had the dealer who delt the hand tell me the story after it happened and he said that he'd definatly have said something to him if he'd actually heard the comment.

Its your own fault for playing the whole hand like a donkey, and then believing him.

Clap clap. I know i played the hand bad pro. I said that, Im the first to admit it, i was having a bad night and knew the players i was up against, who dont usually bluff, and i still know i played the hand bad. Thanks for your comment, real helpful, You *%**%*&.

In life you got to judge people by their actions, not their words.

Smoothies, its not just a drink.

I was at that table it was poor form alright.I said so at the time. The dealer said he didnt hear it..but if he did what course of action could be taken??
I doubt he would loose the pot,and i doubt he would care if he got a warning ,as he scooped the winnings up.

What help, precisely, are you looking for here?

Nobody can help you, the deed is done, the game is over, the money is gone.

However you can learn from the experience, and play the hand better and dont believe the guy who tells you his hand to "save you money" at a poker table.

    Oh - one more thing.....

How do you have KdKx in your hand on a flop with 3 diamonds, that also has a K in it?

The fitz takes actions like this very seriously. I think it is very bad form, a disgrace and I would be fuming if it happened to me. In fact I would encourage anyone who was at the table to tell the story to their friends who play in the fitz and the next time the pr*ck gets a serious bad beat lets see how much sympathy he gets.

I know everyone sits down at a cash table to make money, end of story, but to do something like that is desperate,
My 2 cents anyway. Keep the chin up kamaldihnio and try not to judge everyone on the actions of one t*ss pot

I'm struggling to understand what this thread is about?

A player tells another player a lie?

    Shocking...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,364 ✭✭✭Mr. Flibble

Apart from the fact that there were 3 players in the hand so speech play isn't allowed I can't see a problem with it.

Its rare I find myself in agreement with you but this really looks like standard 'speech play getting player to fold better hand'.
So I'm struggling to understand the thread as well.

Probably is rare as I've never had a discussion with you! ;)

Good advice. But you didn't need to be such an arsehole first time around.

Yes. But it seems that Kamaldihnio is angry about what was said not really because something was said when 3 players were in the pot.

I think he was angry about the whole situation, and i must say he took it well,a hell of alot better than i would have taken it.he admitted straight away he had played it badly and it was his own fault.

i think i remember seeing this on tv a while ago. TJ Cloutier giving out to someguy for saying ''ill show you a queen if it will slow you down'' to an opponent.TJ said that if he didnt show the queen after the hand then they ''would slap a penalty on your ass so fast it will make your head spin''

After seeing this a few months ago i just presumed that this type of speech play it against the rules..but im not that long playing poker..so it might be one of these rules that are enforced someplaces and not others

I'm not trying to get a dig in at Kil here, but would you have been happy if he had showed the flush at the end.

I think I would be a lot more upset if I was the third player involved in this hand and i would have claimed that collusion was taking place (although you never asked for information) because you were told a players hand and folded because of that.

it seemed he didnt care at all.was quite happy to muck his bluff and move onto the next hand.he just said 'thats poker'
your right though he should have been annoyed.
Not sure on this is there any chance the guy who won the pot could loose it for collusion (i understand its not exactly collusion as its one way)..or does this thing never happen

To be honest, I am of the train of thought that poker is a game of deception. OP got taken in. It was not particularly nice, and afterwards I would have told your man what I thought of him had he done it to me, but I would have been more annoyed at myself for believing him. Like I say, one of the skills of poker is making an oponent think you have a stronger hand, that is what the other guy did.

I joined the table shortly after the hand in question and kam did seem to be upset by it and another beat on KK for him just rounded the night off. I felt more sorry though for the lad in seat 10 that lost 3 large pots AKs against A10, top set on the flop against a flush chaser and a nut flush against a straight flush despite playin each hand pretty way. It was just one of those nights that the fitz throws up every now and again! Start of a new month and a clean slate with luck vs bad beats so leave it go kam!

On Saturday night I was playing in the Fitz and at the main table and at around 1am I was involved in a hand. I raised it up UTG+1 with JJ and the SB is thinking of calling and asks the BB if he's seen me here before - trying to guage if I know how to play I guess. The BB says he hasn't seen me and the SB decides to play the hand. [the bad beat part is I flop top set, bet 2/3 pot and he hits a straight on the turn with his 3d4d and stacks me]

Would anyone have thought anything about this? I was a bit peeved at the time, but that was only after I lost the hand of course. I didn't say anything before the hand continued so I feel that if I did have any grounds for complaint I left them behind when the flop came and I stayed quiet. And I would have loved the collusion if the board paired and I doubled up :p

    ps. are you a bordsie 3d4d? Gotta put a face to a name/handle :)
