Acer Aspire 9410 or Dell Inspiron 9400?

    Hi,
I'm getting a new laptop and have pretty much norrowed down my search to 2 laptops. The Dell Inspiron 9400 and the Acer Aspire 9410.
I can't decide which to go for though, the Dell is very fast etc but looks very dated now, and the Acer is fast too but I have no experience with an Acer computer.
I'd apreciate any advise / experiences etc.
    Thanks

You would have better luck if you posted in the laptop forum.

I'd go for Dell. Better support. Acer support is based in UK, no local number to ring. And on my experience with them, one of the worst customer services.

Oh dear,! I have been using Acer laptops for seven years and never had any need for customer service yet! I am on my fourth one and will change it next year.

I used a Dell in work for three years and had some fun with the floppy and CD drives. The only trouble I heard about with Acer was when a friend had his MB fried in during an electrical storm.

Working for a big multinational we had favourable prices on Dells but most of the people bought Acer for their private use!
