    :)
Have had a bit too much wine in celebration and other problems......
Have posted before but anyways - I know you will all think I'm super dim but there you are:D

I reckon I'll have a bit of trouble getting my boss to give me the holiday pay I'm due, so I'd like to have an idea of what I can actually confront him with, and herein lies the problem.

I need to find a holiday pay calculator online -any pointers?
Is anyone kind enought to work it out for me?
Free pizza in Tubbercurry up for grabs! Or a drink in Mullingar -takes your pick!

here is the link to my previous post

You are entitled to 8% of time accrued.

(PS - it's illegal to pay an employee in lieu of giving holidays)

While it's illegal to pay in lieu of holiday pay an employee who is leaving employment (as dragona is) is entitled to any holiday pay they are owed under their contract at the point they leave.

This may already have been mentioned on the other thread but this page leave entitlement page should give the details you need. Firstly, the amount of leave you might be due depends on the number of hours you have worked but this will be a minimum of 8% of the three days per week (subject to a max of 20 days). Unless you fit into the category of 'officially' working more than 1,365 hours a year or 117 hours per month then it's a straight 8%. Only you really know how many hours you are working.

What could complicate things is the 'Leave Year'. If your employer operates a traditional leave year (April - March) they could 'theoretically' claim that they don't allow employees to carry over and telly to get stuffed for everything prior to April this year.

Finally, I think the fact that you never received a P60 sounds ominous. If your employer won't furnish you with a P45 then you're probably off the books despite the company cheques.

Oops - sorry about that. I see it now.

Well, apparently he hasn't been to the *accountant* yet but will get it sorted for me by Thursday. I reminded him about my P60 which I should have had in January, and he said 'oh right'

We'll see if his calculations work out the same as mine....
