Final table situation

Was playing 40k GTD on party the other night and had played well to get to final table. Had a couple of bits of luck early on when i caught flush to beat trips and beat KK with AQ when we were both in blinds. Other than those 2 hands, i have been way ahead every time i put money in and got called. Id say my image is fairly tight and this has allowed me to steal some nice pots at final table already.

We are down to 9 players. Im 2nd in chips with about 4 of us over 200k and the rest all around 100k. Blinds are now 4/8K with 100 ante. Prize structure is very top heavy so there has been a lot of discussions about a deal but 2 people wont get involved in the deal so it has been a no go so far.

I get dealt KK in the BB and there is a raise to 30K from the cut off. This is from another big stack who i have just about covered. He has been playing solid but has been stealing from cut off and button a number of times.

What is my move here with KK?

Flat Call, then check raise all-in on a nonA flop ?

this is just getting smart and I don't like it

I learnt the painful way over the last few days that simple is best!

Agreed to an extent, but KK is too good at this stage to be just picking off a CO raise and the blinds. If you want to maximise your chances of winning the tourny then I think you have to take at least a continuation bet from them.
In fact for a totally coldblooded person, calling pre-flop and checkcalling a nonA flop in the hope of picking up more on the turn might be the way to go.

yikes, I really hate this. It may well work if he flops what he thinks is top pair (holding say QJ on a Q rag rag flop) but you are effectively allowing him 2 chances to catch up and outdraw you.

plus you are out of position....

why give villain a chance to improve his holding?

I reraised to 80K and original raiser pushed all in. I call like a shot and see him show AA. Anyone think they could get away from this at this stage of a tourney.

If i had just called and seen a flop, it would have all went in anyway as flop came AK4.

I dont think i can fold KK in this situation with a top heavy payout.

vul, no chance to get away

you played the hand correctly (even Armani Jeans would probably not have gotten away from it!)
