    hello everyone

so today i called up Four Star Pizza in tralee to order a 16" barbeque supreme (which is gorgeous btw) and he says "sorry mate we all out of 16"'s but we'll give you a 9" and a 12" for the same price" and i was like "alright, class free food...

i put the phone down and thought waaaaaaaiiiittt a minute, a 12" and a 9" is smaller than a 16"... to the simple human brain 12" + 9" = 21" but ITS NOT

    area of a 16" pizza = 'Pi'x8'squared' = 201.06192982974676726160917652989

    area of a 12" pizza = 'Pi'x6'squared' = 113.09733552923255658465516179806
    +
    area of a 9" pizza - 'Pi'x4.5'squared' = 63.61725123519331307886852851141
    =
    176.71458676442586966352369030941

    ie. RIPOFF... *****

    that is all

Ah yes the appliance of maths to pizza area. Unfortunately your maths implies the pizza's you got are 2-Dimensional, so you definately got ripped off.

But anway...don't they roll their own pizza bases? So they couldn't really have been "out of" 16 inches...?

large pizza franchises don't roll their own dough. it comes frozen from their suppliers.

Dominos do everything to a high standard but thats why they cost a fortune and you get much less for your €'s. More taste, but less wow factor. Im generally drinking with the lads when its pizza time so we always either go for Four**** or godfathers because at least when you see your order theres a really good wow factor to it, takes some time to finish it and you cant taste any real difference.

You're not alone. One of the Irish stores (they won't say which one) had the highest turnover of all the worldwide stores last year.

It's not a rip-off at all. A 16" barbeque supreme costs €19, while the combined price of the 12" and 9" is €27.

Nah, I've seen the other thread. :p

Surprised they named it. The article I read said the guy that owns the francise didn't want it to be known publicly. Wonder who leaked it.

Not in tralee,a 16" only costs €15,a 12 is only€12 and a 9" is only €10,i know that a 16" is still cheaper then tho other 2 put together, but you are getin riped off for a pizza
