Have a look through the sticky (Wedding Bands (Music) at the top of the forum there, I think there is a few mentions of price and some bands in your area. At least it will give you some idea on price, etc. Good luck. :)

I can highly recommend Kif- I was at a wedding a few weeks ago and they did an excellent set. The can play all the old stuff to keep the parents/aunties happy and then they can give you a bit of acdc or the killers to keep the young ones happy.

I heard a price from one of the wedding party but I dont want to say it in case I misquote the band but it sounds fairly reasonable compared to other bands.

Played for about 2 and a half hours and were well able to keep the crowd entertained. I think they also offer a DJ service where one of them stay behind and do it for you. Could save you a few euros

Dont know about your dad singing but they seem very laid back and I am sure they would be open to all suggestions.

    Check out their website Kif.ie

The Conqueres are good if you like that sort of music, was at a wedding not too long ago and they played. They are pricey from what I hear.

Check out dejavu - they normally play in the Spanish Arch or the Salthill hotel - lively and plenty of variety
    their web site is www.dejavugalway.com
