How do I use my second hard drive?

My acer laptop has 2 40G hard drives, C & D. I've been adding loads of music to my itunes and I'm now getting a message that my disk is full. I can see that all my itunes related files are on drive C, drive D is completely empty.

Is it possible to move all my music to drive D? If so how do I do it??

    Thanks.

Your laptop doesnt have 2 x 40GB hard drives...Acer partitions your 1x80GB hard drive into 2 partitions.Your can resize the disk to 1 partition of 80gb but you will have to backup the info off your D: partition first.

Of course, just go to My Computer and drag+drop the files you want to move onto the empty "D" drive. I'm not familiar with iTunes, what format are the music files in?

Its a bit technical but Acer does this with all its laptops as does Sony (god knows why...) but one partition , C: is supposed to be for your operating system and the other D: is supposed to be for data etc. However not many people store info this way ie. most use My Documents and their Desktop all of which are located on the C: partition. The only way to get around the running out of space message is to delete files, or move them to a USB hard drive/USB key and resize the C: partition from 40 -> 80gb basically deleting D: and just leaving one drive called C:

Ooops justr realised D: was empty.thats even better, get a mate who hads Partition Magic 8 or something similar to resize the C: drive!

Or just click on the itunes folder and click move. Move it to d. when you open itunes you'll have to change where it stores the music....ie click edit, preferences, advanced. make your change here. hope this helps......easier than re-partioning. :D

The reason acer do that fat32 bull**** is because they're too cheap to pay for a newer version of ghost.

i recently bought a 2.0 toshiba notebook hard drive with 40gb

problem is my computer isn't recognising it. i've tried the following below but it doesnt even allow the option of formatting.

    control panel>admisnitartive tools>computer management>disk magament>refresh system(by clicking f5 key)>highlight drive letter>right click mouse>format.

    any ideas?

Does it work at all? Test it with a external caddie.
