Rust Dish

I have had a bit of picture break up on one of my boxes lately. I was blaming the weather, but on inspecting my dish I see it has become somewhat discoloured.
Would this effect reception, and if so what cleaning method is recommended?
Only seems to be affecting my second box, signal strength seems ok, but quality seems to fluctuate from 75% to near zero.
No problems on my other (Sky+) box.

The problem is most likely a fault in the box, or a bad cable connection.

Virtually anything matt and non-metal based. Don't try to paint the LNB however...

Wirebrush and polish of the rust.

Hammerite seems fine. Car spray paint is somewhat porous and allows rust (look at old cars!). Plasticote or other enamel type sprays are more waterproof. If you can only get high gloss you can use water and finest wet& dry sandpaper after a few days on the front surface to take off the shine. (The rest of the dish, esp. rear can be shiny).
