"Ruffneck - Break for the Guillotine" was played on NEAR FM 101.6 in 1998. That was the 1st hardcore tune I heard. Its was mad gabber stuff at 190 BPM. Around the same time, I heard the album Charlottenburg by Charly Lownoise and Menthal Theo. Some fab stuff there. V funny at the time. I ended up buying loads of this mad stuff then.

Dunno if you would classify this as Hardcore probably Bleep but one of the finest ever and a massive hit in 1990

Quality track imho. I read this thread this morning and have spent the day trying to wrestle the first hardcore tune i ever heard outta my mushy grey matter but this one keeps popping in! Or Dominator ... im bigger and bolder, ruffer and tuffer, in other words sucker there is no other im the one and only dominator (think that's the way it goes). i think though and i am probably wrong but they were probably among the first to be released? no?

    4 hero - "mr kirk's nightmare"
sonz of a loop da loop era - "bust that groove"
    jonny jungle - "jonny"
    rufige cru - "terminator"
dj trax - "we rock the most"
genaside ii - "narra mine" - tuuuuune!!!!!!!!! MURDEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

missed out on a lot of the breakbeat hardcore stuff to be honest... started getting in to it from london pirate radio mixtapes my cousin used to send me, juuust as it was on the very cusp of turning into jungle, after the whole dark core days...
