Ummm....because we all live in Ireland?

Typical monday morning work convo: "Ah I was out of me nut last night, drank [X] pints...but jaaaysus, ya should've seen me friday! pissed!"

Not as apparent as garda intelligence perhaps, but alcoholism in this country is far from hidden and anonymous...

Cuckoo's don't have nests, they lay their eggs in other bird's nests.

It's also a forum on boards, hence modern oxymoron (stretching a bit I agree)

Hoho! This is getting hot. Might I just interrupt to point out that the correct spelling is "ellipsis", since we're being so pedantic. Nice, huh? But quid pro quo.

Ah, I'll leave you to it, lads.

Ta for the explanation on cuckoos nest.

but surely it is a cuckoos nest if she's in it layin eggs? Like just i rent a flat, its not my flat but its mine while im rentin it? so to speak. 'yeah call up to my flat' its not mine but i'd hardly says 'yeah call up to my landlords flat that im renting off her'

hmm bit of a waffle there, dont mind me .. ;)

    Ok i got an oxymoran:

    'non-alcoholic beer'

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 629 ✭✭✭sterculelum

    I've got one! "modern oxymoron".

I know it's not... but I fooled you for a second, right? You did think about it.

And wait... is that actually an oxymoron? I'm not saying it's not... I'm just wondering... does beer *have* to have alcohol in it? Or is it just that it's made out of hops and stuff? Like is root beer technically beer? Maybe not. I don't know.

well ok i kind of see your point, but is root beer brewed? and what about ginger beer? isn't that ginger ale too? see we could go on and on but id rather enjoy the oxymoron of it.

ah anyway u made me think of another one..

    'Clearly confused'

(although i did understand ya.. eh)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 629 ✭✭✭sterculelum

Deal. I don't think root beer is brewed actually... but non-alcoholic beer is brewed too and then they take the alco out of it, right?

Whoa that got confusing. I, too, am clearly confused.

    [pendantic]
    dry ice
what's wrong with dry ice? ice is solidified water. ice only feels wet when there's a film of melted water on it
