I am looking for a decent BB gun (pistol) that is also in my price range. I had a look around and found a few in the €20 - €25 bracket, they look good, but you can never be sure. Do you know of any good BB guns in that price range, or a good place to find one. I have been looking here. would you recomend any of these?

you find what you were looking for in here or there?

yeah, I decided to raise the cash and go for a SPAS 12

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭whupass

    that's pretty cool

thing about spring power it only really works in shotguns and rifles, where you would normaly have to pump it or what not, but in a pistol it's so impracticle

sorry to hijack the thread but another thread isn't worth it...

what's the deal with airsoft guns? do you need a licence to operate them or can i just buy off the web like an ordinary joe soap?

Do you know if speedytoys have orange tips on the guns?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,372 ✭✭✭The Bollox

yeah I think it is law for all BB guns to have the top half inch of the barrel flaming orange

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭whupass

they do it's the law, but only in america english shops don't have it and it's not mentioned at all inour law so you could paint it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,373 ✭✭✭Irishpimpdude

Know any good uk stores with cheap shipping? i just noticed on speedytoys its $24 for shiping i only want like one pistol... and am i definatly guaranteed to get it through customs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭whupass

it's not illagal so that way definite, but you have to pay duty if they find you didn't they may seize it

welll you might get a slow bugger who isn't up to date on the law so if it is seized just call them. how much is the pistol? there is a sertain amount you don't have to pay duty on, i think

gizmos sell guns and have free shipping on orders over € 100

I would like your opinions on this:

I am looking currently at 2 shotguns and am not sure which to get.

there is the SPAS 12. It looks great and is the one I have been looking at more than any other gun. it costs €60 including shipping.

on the other hand is the Smith & Wesson Military Pump Shotgun, another gun I have had my eye on for some time. it looks good, but not as good as the SPAS 12. It is currently out of stock, but that's no problem, they will be getting more by the middle of this month, I still have to wait for my credit card anyway. a nice feature of this gun is the burst fire. It is also cheaper than the SPAS 12 at €50 including shipping.

which gun would you suggest I go for?

Was thinking about going for the SPAS 12 myself, but does it burst fire?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭whupass

well what really is the point of a shotgun if you don't get that burst? you'd be carring around a huge gun just for 1 shot i'd say go for the S&W plus you can get a discount for speedytoys.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,372 ✭✭✭The Bollox

I decided in the end to go with the SPAS 12

has anyone else here purchased any Airsoft guns from Gizmos.com? do you know if they give you BB's with the gun? I am fairly sure they do, but then again you don't always get caps with a cap gun

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,674 ✭✭✭Skatedude

    lo
i've ordered from gizmos, they dont offer bb rounds with most of the guns so you might want to order some additional rounds, delivery seems ok as i ordered 2 aeg's a pistol and commando last monday and i got a note in the letterbox yesterday asking me to pick up the packages from the depot as i wasnt in at the time.
now i have to start saving for a decent aeg now i know they will get through.
Wonder if customs will be more picky if its a metal replica instead of plastic?

    what depot?

some of those look the biz! What do you use them for? With a target in the back garden or what? Hmm.... after watchin a Steven Seagal film with a couple of beers I can imagine wanting to grab one of these and let loose!

yeah, basically just to have some craic, get a few empty bottles and cans and have a shooting range

the depot is just the courier's werehouse, same as dhl etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,674 ✭✭✭Skatedude

I have ordered a few cheap aegs for messing in the garden, but i do want to get a decent p90 ( http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/category.asp?page=category&id=32) or 2 for possible skirmish events if we can get some organised in the republic, from what i've seem the bb paintballs are ok if you mix every second round with a regular bb

Also love to get the alien kit for the thompson
    http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/product.asp?page=product&id=GP132
as a tech i'd have a lot of fun building it

For an estimate of €200 after taxes and shipping:

Thats an airgun, which will need a licence. Zinc pellets going at 1000FPS is gonna hurt. Alot.

yea that is an actuall gun in the eyes of the law. you could get it over the counter in england though.

Yep, an 8 grain (approx. 0.52 grams) .177 lead pellet doing 1000fps is making about 24 joules at the muzzle, and therefore falls well outside the sub-1 joule definition.
Most definitely regarded as a firearm, and should be licenced as such.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,919 ✭✭✭Bob the Builder

ah **** it...I thought it was legal and the limit was actually sub-20 joules, in that case, i'm not going to bother with it. Are you sure 1joule is the max?

In England, if your found in the street with a BB gun or replica of any sort, you will be actually shot by the cops.

    Thanks for telling me....

    That P90 looks the biz.

Planning on looking at one myself but not sure whether to go for a rifle or pistol. Definately wouldn't go for a shotgun though...

edit: pretty cool looking g36c on the gizmo site too...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭whupass

    ha nice dog!

yea that is a real p90 though, the ones on wgcshop.com look good and are cheaper than any where else i've found

    Finally, Airsoft is legal :D
If i had my choice of guns, id probably go for a nice M4A1 or Steyr AUG. Problem is, they seem to expensive (around £200). I even had a look for an MP5 thinking it would be cheaper, still around the £200 mark. For a laugh i had a look to see if there were airsoft version of the SAW, and sure enough, i found a quality looking M249 (and the para) for around the £900 mark
O well, might have to settle for a pistol, Glock or USP .40 would be nice. BTW, how could you ever bad mouth the P90... 50 round mag capacity, 900 round per min, straight through Kevlar vests... its probably the best SMG ever produced. Pity the Airsoft version doesnt do that :D Still, $40 seems a good price. Is it 1 joule or what? That site doesnt seem to say for any of the guns.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭whupass

it's 200 feet per second now 328 is 1 joule so it's under, better ones are only 240/280 fps

why would you not go for a shotgun? personally I find the shotguns to be the best. they are all going to be spring powerd and so won't cost as much as an electric or gas powered one. Also they look class, I can't f**king wait for my SPAS 12 to arrive
