Can anyone recall the name of a soft drink that came in a can only (I think) and was in a light blue/ice white livery, the drink was lemony and it was on sale back in the late 70s & early 80s.

    Mike.

Thanks and it shows just how memories can fade and be slightly wrong. The drink was called FRESCA and I loved it.

They still make it in the States

ok so how is it different to sprite?

I only remember drinking Fresca in Spain. Never saw it in this country.

I think it came in both orange and lemon flavours. It'd be similar to Fanta orange and Fanta lemon, not Sprite as some poster have asked

<edit. having read the wikipedia page I don't know if what I've stated above is correct

    Fresca was grapefruit flavoured.

    Tastes a bit like Lilt.

Has a reputation for being an old woman's drink in the US. As in your grandmother might drink it.

yeah! they tasted like watered down orange sparklers. also who remembers the drinks in the triangle cartons. there was an orange flavour and a particularly foul "cola" flavour. 12p i believe they cost.

YEs, I remember Pocari and used to drink it quite a lot, loved it  Not sure I would now though :)

The Club Shandy thread seems to have disappeared so I just thought I'd say that it is still quite possible to get lemonade shandy over here in the UK! The thread reminded me about it and I went looking to see was shandy available in the UK. Bought myself 2 litres from the co-op for 59p, it's made with 0.5% reconstituted beer but tasted great. Brought me back to my childhood.

Can't imagine it will ever come back to Ireland, too many people feel it would encourage children to drink stronger alcohol! I stopped drinking it when I took the pioneer pledge and didn't drink alcohol until I was 18! Then got hammered on 1 pint of Carlsberg :o

I remember those well. I loved them at the time but I'm sure I'd think they were foul tasting now. :)

No, because I found some at a market down the country about 3 years ago, managed to get the elusive strawberry one, was nearly crying with nostalgia drinking it. Fabulous.
