don't really know where to post this thread, feel free to move it. going travelling for about 10 months with my gf, just wondering how much money i'll need. im thinking bout 10k, some people are saying thats loads but i don't wanna not be able to do stuff while im away because of money. it's a big loan to be coming home to but i think its worth it. just wondering has anyone gone away with their partner before and how much did they bring? we may work in oz, depending on how our money goes

Yes. Should be moved to a place where you might get more of a response?

I'll reply, but I think it'll get moved anyway.

I didn't go with my gf, I went with four mates - male and female.

You'll need about €3,000 to get into Australia, also if you're thinking of working, you'll need a Working Holiday Visa for Australia too.

Now, ten thousand may seem like a lot but it means you can get there and spend time seeing the place. Are you thinking of going anywhere else?

With that kind of money I'd think about doing the more expensive parts of the trip first, for example The USA. If you are thinking of going to Asia then go there last, as you will need much less cash behind you.

Considering I spend on average over a thousand a week on holiday, 10,000 for 10 months isnt too bad.
Major factors. Where? What level of accomodation? What lifestyle?
