i have a 2nd hand digibox, last used here in ireland, therfore it has the irish epg, eg. 101 is rte 1, 102 is rte 2 etc...

i want to be able to watch the fta channels and have the default uk epg.

    eg. bbc1 - 101, bbc2 -102 etc...

i thought i saw a way of doing this b4 somewher....something about putting card in upside down and then resetting....

i havent got a card, but i can get a loan of a freesat card for a while if it will help

    any ideas would be welcome

so what is de procedure, is the following correct?

    turn off digibox
    insert credit card, upside down
    power up the digibox
    default epg installed (eg. bbc1 101, bbc2 102 etc...)
    Bobs ur uncle!

If its that easy, thats cool!

    Also just one other question.

Those freesat cards, i believe that once activated they will work in any digibox, is this correct?

I'm in a similar situation, but every time there's an over-the-air update, my box reverts to its Irish set-up. The only way I can get the UK default back is to start as a new installation after going into Sky News Active.

It's only a minor niggle, but is there another way round it?

whats ur procedure with sky news active? can u outline how u do this?

On Sky News, press the red button. When Sky News Active appears, insert a card (any card), exit Active and within a few seconds, you should have the UK EPG. (I've found that sometimes, it takes a few attempts to work)

Or on Sky News press red then go into one of the mini screens then if you have a card inserted pull it out and then press the back up button (not Sky) until you come back out to the live channel where you see the search and scan banner and after a few seconds you will have the UK EPG, 101 BBC1 London etc etc.

AFAIK, you don't need a card at all to do this.

Just remove your sky card after powering down the receiver.

Power up and there is the UK EPG.

Works on a spare pace digibox I use for receiving UTV as it gives a clearer picture than the aerial. I presume that it'll work on all other receivers the same way!

    Good luck with it.

Depends on SW and box version. Beleive me some boxes are very stubborn about sticking to Irish EPG. The Pull card out while in Interactive works in those cases AND DON'T INSERT ANY CARD AT ALL! No need to power off. Irish EPG returns when you put card in.

Power off requiries unplugging which may not be easily accessible.
