    Hi lads,

Only posted first time here, been readin for a while. Was once the real fit kid in the gym the one who could lift more than all the rest and embarressed the older guys. NOW i,m about 1 stonne (left) overweight with fat no denying it. Been back training hard for the last 3 months though have slacked off 3 weeks ago for a fortnight am back on the training wagon again. Doin 4 hours cardio week (training in 60-70% hr zone) and liftin weights twice. Goal is to burn off rest of fat and generally become stronger and more athlethic though not necessarily BIGGER if you get me. I'm 27, 6'1 98kg now was 107kg before training. I eat real well no rubbish am a non drinker and non smoker and she is a gym rat so no motivation probs.

    Phew the questions,

For cardio which is better treadmill or cross trainer.

I want to improve my 1.5 mile time am around 11.5minutes now crap i know does anyone know any where to look for tips or advice re training for this ideally like to hit 9.5 to 10 mins by October have i left it too late?

    Cheers guys

whats up man.. ur 6'1 and 98kg but what is ur body fat%. u say u eat healthy but do u know how to diet and eat the correct food sources at proper times etc..
    for ur ans to questions.
cardio or crosstrainer.. alot of people wud say its a personal option and i agree i feel cross trainer is better for me cos im using my upper body aswell and i also get shin splints on treadmill..

as for ur timing man that goes without saying keep on practising and throw in a few sprints ur fitness levels are prob not as what they use to be

    Cheers for that,

am fine on the whole nutrition front have PhD in nutrition (no aint boastin just sayin) I have not had body fat checked for a while though was 26% when I was weighed in at 107kg in April. Have def lost body fat just look at me jeans. Am a pure believer in the slow steady weight loss dont believe in magic cures nutrition is simple less energy in more energy out weight (and more importanly fat) down. Thanks re the treadmill personally I dont like them for long burns 45 mins+ prefer the cross trainer also much easier to work in right heart rate zone on cross trainer.

    Thanks agian
