These "infomercials" that are on TV3 during the night, anyone ever bought anything from them?
I was thinking about getting that "swivel sweeper" thing from them but then I saw loads of reviews saying its crap!

    (Anyone tried one?)

Im just wondering, is there anything I should be worried about ordering from these guys on tv?

Think herself bought something from it (lucky charm i think), met me soon after, seems to have been poor value tbh

I think this is the same crowd that advertise on TV3 - They say it's €55 + €12 P&P I just ordered the same thing from QVC and it cost €50 inclusive of postage - it took about a week to get here!

Only used it a few times but it looks like it does what it says on the tin!

My mom has the V-slicer, 2 steam cleaners, a Magic Bullet blender and this really weird pair of inflatable boots that massage your legs. It's the curse of the nocturnal TV viewer.... strange subliminal messages or something

    lol! :)
Us insomniacs are prime targets it seems, we see these things and are too damned tired to think them through! ;)

Well, I've ordered this swivel thingy, lets see if it does the job as good as it seems on the ad!
Ive been reading bad reviews about the battery though. (though I notice most of the battery issues mentioned were from the USA).

Only doing it because I have some leftover cash on my 3V card so it will be an interesting experiment if nothing else. Only really want it for cat hair, litter, and general dusty stuff.

That magic bullet ad lasts forever, just when you think its over they come up with something else is does.

"Now with this generator extension, your new magic blender can power your entire house!":p

    Ruu,
I actually got that magic bullet thing! (Via Dunnes stores though).

Its not too bad and does pretty much everything they say.

BUT, its a beotch to clean and there are these fiddly little seals (look like rubber bands) that easilly get caught in the blades unless you are very careful and read the manual in detail.

AND, unless you push down hard enough, you shear off half the motor thingy that the cups etc, lock onto!!

But in fairness, once you figure it out, it actually does the job and does it quite well! tis all about reading the manual VERY closely with it before you even plug it in. ;)
(The only things that went wrong with mine were my own fault for not being careful as you need to be with it.)
But it is rather impressive what it can do, even has a juicer attachment and will grind coffee and nuts!
The only other thing is you MUST only use it in 3 second burst and check the contents after each or you WILL puree everything you put in it! its almost *too* powerful LOL ;)

I got the Penalli pen set a couple of years ago, got it a week before they doubled up the offer into a two for one. It's a cool pen though, can pierce the crap out of a can. It also writes.

Be careful ordering these things you see on TV. I worked at a place that called themselves "A FulFillment Company". They were actually a warehouse for all those infomercial products.
Even the supervisors that were training me for the job - when showing me thr products - admitted that 95% of the products were crap!

And watch what they charge you for shipping. They likely will not refund it to you if you return the product. That is how the Fulfillment Company makes their money. They keep the shipping charges. The Manufacturer keeps the product money. I really think it ought to be illegal the way the do it, but they have their loop-holes.
I worked there about a week and could not live with myself misleading customers just for an income!

AND OMG! Do NOT Order the FLOAM! That is the company I'm speaking of!!!

"Hi, do you have any of those super blenders left?!?!"
"Yeah we have a few but we are running out of stock, you should buy now!" *looks over at mountain of stock, stacked all around*
"Ok put me down for two then!"

Is that how they work L4L? :)

I can put my hand on my heart and say that my mom never took the V-slicer outta the box cept when I borrowed it to slice cucumbers. I had visions of me skillfully slicing and dicing the contents of the fridge, impressing the dogs with my speed and agility :D - but it was pretty pathetic to be honest, you have to stick the bit of cucumber on these "prong/forky" bits to grip it and you think you're getting a good speed up and then it all gets stuck and you have to unwedge the veg - that guy that demonstrates it is my hero though - he MAKES the v-slicer glamourous...

Just an update on this, ordered it that night (the 27th), almost a month later, still no sign of the thing, wont be trying this experiment again tfs!!

    *sigh*
I so wanted to get under couches and sweep up "cat hair, dog hair, your hair or my hair"....... not to mention see this "Quad Brush Technology" (stifled snort of giggling) ;)
