A close relation has had a big operation on their bowel about 6 weeks ago. They are still very weak. They are in their '60's. They are making a slow recovery. Has anybody here had somebody in a similar position. I am concerned that even in 6 or 12 months that they will still be a lot weaker than they are now, even if they make what could be considered a normal recovery.

My dad had a bowel operation about 6 weeks ago. Weird.

Anyway,he's in his mid 60's and seems to be making quite a quick recovery. However,he is very fit and eats well. I think it depends a lot on the individual.

I'd wait a couple of months and see how things go. Chances are that you'll see a great improvement within that time. Just make sure this person eats right rests a lot.
