How do i go about asking for a raise

I am a carpenter working fitting kitchens and I have worked for my employer for over two years on the same wage. I have recently bought an apartment and feel that a raise is overdue. But I am worried that it will come out wrong. How do I ask for a raise without it sounding like an ultimatum? Not even to sure what I can ask for.

any help would be much appreciated.

Dude. Good chippies are worth their weight in gold, and will be worth even moreso when the SSIA madness begins.

It's quite easy - approach boss and discuss your forthcoming rise. If boss declines, feck off.

Secondly, if you are a full-time employee, you really shouldn't have been on the same wage for the past two years.
