    Hey all,

My Ipod has recently ceased to work pretty much, and im looking for a new mp3 player. My friend has recomended the Creative zen, and i was just wondering if anybody could direct me to a website that offers a reasonable price. The best price i could find was on Ebay, but i dont trust Ebay and would prefer to refrain from shopping there at any cost.

Apologies if im breaking any rules here asking this,

    Thanks in Advance,

    try either www.dabs.com or www.komplett.ie

I bought mine from amazon.co.uk, but they no longer deliver to Ireland.

ie.europe.creative.com are doing them for 300 euro incl delivery.

315 with the tv out cable.

komplett has some mad prices, a black one is way more expensive than any of the coloured ones. doesnt make a lick of sense.

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated.

I think ill go with dabs.com as theirs is selling for approx 277 euro, which seems like the cheapest non-ebay deal. And i cant see delivery exceeding €33, ill make the purchase this evening unless anybody can tell me this is a bad purchase and i should go for an alternative mp3 product?

Anyone know the cheapest place atm to get one of these from including p+p?

hardware-versand in germany has them for 252 plus 20 euro p+p but germans only like to deal with banks transfers which is too much hassle

Picked mine up in Austin Texas at Fry's for 254 euro ($299). Works fine. Seems pretty good. Only thing about it is that I need to install the drivers on any PC I want to use it on. Flash players win this way.

Quick Question about allocating disk space.
It's able to work as an external USB 2.0 hard drive with fixed sizes from 512 MB up to 16 GB. I allocated this to 8Gb - but what is the point if another PC doesn't pick this up as a removable drive without installing drivers?

Plays .m4v files by converting them to mpeg prior to loading them. Default Software offer to downgrade bitrate for videos whose bitrate is too high.

    ffmpeg -b 440 -hq -y -i Channel_Frederator_38.m4v -f avi -vcodec mpeg4 -vtag XVID -s 320x240 -acodec mp3 -ab 128 Channel_Frederator_38.avi

Now selling in Peats stores in Dublin for €289!

Doubt it can be found in an Irish shop for cheaper than this right now.

No, but it should be found at the SAME PRICE in any Irish shop right now. There's nothing special about Peats.

Harvey Norman, the O2 store, Gadget Shops and anywhere else that have stock of them should be selling them at €289 as it's the new RRP from Creative.

You'd think that wouldn't you. Templecom on Aston Quay (or whatever the one is further up) are still selling them at €320.

Proof as if it's needed of the benefits of shopping around. Someone should tell Templecom about the Creative price drop and that there's a new RRP for that product.

Have one 2 months, never abused, never fell or anything like that. Often left it for 2-3 days without playing it. 27gbs of music only on it....

it froze for the first time there last week. Got a pin and placed it in the reset slot.

it takes alot longer now to start up (40-60seconds). It was usually about 5 seconds....

Im still happy enough, though I know the likes above should not be happening to a well looked after exspensive peice of equipment
