    J.J. Abrams on LOST 3

    ‘I’m Planning On Writing Some’!!

TV Guide’s dreamy Shawna Malcom (whom I actually met for the first time at a “Lost” event in Hawaii last summer) conducted an interview with “Lost” creator J.J. Abrams that wound up in my mailbox and likely the mailboxes of many another TV Guide subscriber today.

Abrams, who co-wrote and directed “Lost’s” hilarious and heartbreaking and terrifying pilot about two years ago, has previously spoken of directing an episode of “Lost’s” third season. But in his interview with Malcom, he says he’ll be back to scripting too!!!:

I definitely look to be more involved this season, certainly more than I was last season [when directing “Mission: Impossible III”]. I look forward to directing an episode and I’m planning on writing some.

Abrams hasn’t officially (and maybe unofficially) written a “Lost” episode since the pilot. He also told Malcom that Desmond lives.

There’s also this bit on page 24 from Terry O’Quinn:

I miss that first-season Locke, who hunted boar and had the answers. I don’t know where he went, but I miss him and I hope he comes back.

You know the old Locke will return after his faith has been re-established. Should be good :)

Let's hope so. He was cool and mysterious in Season 1 but he became a bit of a tosser in S2, moping around the hatch. From what we've learned about his past, he was just one of life's losers rather than a "hitman", as Boone theorised. Let's hope he's flinging knives around again in S3.

Yeah have to say for me the most disappointing thing in Season 2 was how Lockes character was developed hopefully he will return to the knife throwing, boar killing mysterious person he was in Season 1.

In the original script he (Jack) was to be killed off in the pilot, but it was decided against.
