    According to Aertel:

All TV services from Three Rock will be
turned off to facilitate combiner work.

Combiner work? Was somewhat hoping "all TV services from Three Rock will be turned off so we can put 4 more UHF aerials up and 4 more transmitters in the TX hall".

Also, whats going on with FM on Kippure? Its marked as interruptable from now until mid-August...

I think it has to do with the DTT trial which will be launched very shortly from Three rock & Clermont cairn. They have most of the network in place are currently doing testing so maybe this part of it.

Maybe the DTT transmissions from Three Rock are using the same aerials as that for analogue broadcasts? In most cases in the UK, seperate TX aerials for DTT are only used when they either use a different frequency group to the analogue aerials or require a different radiation pattern. Up north, analogue and digital at Brougher and Limavady are fed into the one aerial system while at Divis four of the multiplexes are fed into the analogue aerials and the other two from a seperate aeril down the mast a bit.

Kippure? Maybe transmission refurbishment, new FM aerials, new DAB aerials being erected etc.

Three Rock was meant to be off again from 1am to 6am this morning. If the same thing starts happening at Claremont Carn perhaps DTT testing is definitely getting nearer.
