What's the story with the online booking for this?

Has it been down long & does anyone know the reason why, or how long is "until further notice"?

Used it before & thought it was very good.

Was hoping to use it again in a couple of weeks.

    No online booking.

    First come, first served.

It was a victim of it's own success. When Quickpark were establishing in 2003, it was a form of marketing advantage as the DAA did not have it.

The carpark grew from strength to strength and is now almost permanently full at all times. It is much more lucrative to operate a 'first come first serve system'. With an online booking system it is necessary to turn away other traffic to keep places for reserved customers. This can be costly.

For example, if 1,000 people reserve spaces for Saturday next, Quickpark have to turn away other potential customers for days in advance to make sure that they have the 1,000 spaces for Saturday. It's not like booking a hotel room - they do not know how long you are going to park for. The only alternative would be to vet each customer as they arrive.

The online system also frequently broke down or the PIN would not work properly - more staff and expense.

If you want to be sure of getting a space arrive between the evening and very early in the morning. It is virtually impossible to get one after 5am. they only free up as flights begin to arrive in. If ten cars leave they will admit ten more and so on.
