apologies if has been asked before but i really hate this new search function of boards and couldnt find the thread.
im looking to get started in Omaha.
i have played the game before but would consider my self a a biginner.
was wondering what good good books should i get to start with.
you can also name a advanced books as well as im going to order a few to have them so i can read them later .
i was thinking of Stuart Ruben's "how good is your PL OMAHA"
and "Omaha poker by Ken Warren.are these any good?
any better books to start with?

I haven't read anything by Ken Warren, but I think the general advice is not to touch his stuff with a ten-foot clown pole.

I have Stewart Reubens "How good..." book, but I haven't read it yet. OllyK1 did, so maybe he can let you know if it's any good or not. I also have the Ciaffone/Rueben PL/NL book which has a decent omaha section, and Ciaffone's other small omaha book. If you want to borrow them for a while, no problem, I can drop them into the Fitz some night you're there.

AFAIK, SuperSystem 2 has a good Omaha section for beginners as well, but I haven't read that myself.

Reuben's style is on the hooker side of loose Gholi and sometimes I get the impression that he uses results based thinking and maths to justify some of his moves after the event. However it really gets you thinking about omaha and there is plenty of food for thought and its written in quite an entertaining style. Definitely worth a read.

i have super system 1 .i haven’t read the Omaha section but if the NL holdem section is anything to go with i doubt its any good to start out.
the NL section teaches a very aggro style of play from the go and i don’t like to start out that way when i still haven’t looked at the underlying concepts and fundamentals.

    Gholi,

Play the Omaha cash games in the Fitz. We need the numbers lately. there will be no problems on Thurs or Fri, but we could do with you on Saturday....

    :)
