Feck em all anyway. When they go on strike the bus lanes should be opened up for normal traffic.. or maybe just 3 door Honda Civics

    OR

Maybe Dublin Bus should put on more busses to cope with the extra demand.. just a suggestion - but what do I know :(

DB use almost all of their available buses during rush hour as it stands. I heard they did put on extra buses on some routes, particularly the Airlink routes during the last strike.

Anyway I don't care, bus lanes (particularly along Malahide rd and Swords rd) are much better and faster during taxi strikes :D It's also easier to cycle without a swarm of taxis crowding you.

i call for an anti taxi protest.

For all of next week everyone should try to get the regualr bus or nitelink home.

TBH, this is what i do most of the times anyway. On a saturday night its too hard to get a taxi so the nightlink it is for me.

dam taxis, how does the taxi union not see that by going on strike they are going to lose any public support they might have got for their protest, the Strike won't affect anyone who's in any sort of power to make a different (as those that can will have their own cheuffeurs anyway!) ,

    Apologises for spelling typo's!

Yeah they've definitely lost my support now! Flying to Dubrovnik (yay) next tuesday, luckily didn't book an early morning flight as i usually do when going away, otherwise would've been totalled :( STill havta get the bus now anyway.

The entire country's taxi drivers going on strike? I don't think so.

    It happened last week!

I bloody well hope not, it happened last time I had a photoshoot after 2 o clock in the morning, ended up walking home with my camera gear...took a long long time!

And guess what? My next one that I had planned is tomorrow night...grrr...

Yes. Was in a taxi today and the driver confirmed it - taxi strike next Tuesday the 1st of August.

Interestingly, he said that there were a number of drivers who didn't support it and went out to collect fares. Other disgruntled taxi drivers took offence and items like car attenae were damaged, etc. The driver I spoke to didn't seem in favour of the strikes at all but he wouldn't work because of such intimidation when you go up against the union..
