Michael Mallin was Chief of Staff of the Citizen's Army. He was in the College of Surgeons in Stephen's green during the Rising and surrendered with Countess Markiewicz. He was executed after 1916.

Dún Laoghaire station was called after him in 1966, along with lots of other stations that were given '1916' names.

There is a Mallin Avenue off James's Walk at the back of St James's hospital.

Yep, they used to use that name a lot more back a few years ago...Likewise Bray was always referred to as "Daly" station after another 1916 volunteer, Edward Daly. Limerick is Colbert station and Cork is Kent station etc.
