Tabbed browsing (though thats available in IE7). Lots of different and cool extensions you can get for Firefox. Its probably more secure than IE and you wont have to download a heap of security updates for it each month. Even if you don't like it theres an extension you can get to switch the page back to the IE engine. Firefox is pretty good at blocking popups.

    Yes it's worth switching.
Less prone to spyware/malware and the like.
    Faster browsing.
Lots and lots of add-ons available.
    Tabbed browsing.
    Not Microsoft.

I was quite fond of IE for a long while and was a late uptaker with FF. But since I've switched I'd never go back. Tabbed browsing is a must. I know IE7 has it but it's in beta so I'm a bit wary about installing that.

Other pluses are all the extensions you can add to tweak it's operation, giving much more functionality than IE. Also themes allow you to customise its look. (iCandy jr ftw!).

Install it and give it a go. Might take a short time to gte used to, and if you don't like it you can just uninstall it.

    no adds, no rubbish...

nifty little add-ons like gmail notifier (it will flash up with a sound & message when you have mail), tabbed browsing....

plus you can switch from FF to IE in 1 click using another add-on and back again!

just get FF adn use it, see for yourself

Try going into Firefox (Safe Mode) through the programs menu or by typing the following in the run box; "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode" without the quotes. Tick the box that says Restore toolbars and controls, click Make Changes and Restart and see if that works.

I've heard that IE is more, uh, built-in to the XP system than other browsers would be, so having it makes it easier to get viruses etc. I may be wrong though.
