My argument is that maybe they should think about getting their own house in order before they go attacking the press for reporting what happened. Heaven knows they get an awful lot of good exposure and coverage from the press before and around the festival.

Unbelievable! Not an Indo fan but, hopefully, if this did reach court, they'd win hands-down on fair comment grounds - look at all the people who'd back them, for God's sake. Free press and all that. (A newspaper can't comment on something - bizarre!)

If it damages their good name and holds them up to contempt among ordinary people. It's not like a scathing album review, which may not necessarily damage a band's good name (as people). However, in the case of ******, even if there were no press reports on it, <mod snip>

Due to MCD's heavy handed tactics in regards to legal threats I am not taking any chances with this thread.

I'm locking it for the time being and have edited any potentially defamatory comments too; hopefully it will be re-opened asap.

I'm sure people think I'm being heavy-handed but I'm jut being cautious.

Good call... Would have had to do this myself otherwise.

I have removed the article from the thread as Im unclear on where we stand regarding a) using it without permission and b) republishing a potentially defamatory article even when we believe that contents to be truths.
