    0.5/1 nl

Villian has only come onto table, PA is telling me vip 30, pfr 6.4 over 250 hands (Eagle)

    Him $102, I cover.

I raise $4 UTG+1 with AJs. He calls form CO. Everyone else folds.

    Flop ($9.5) 2s 10s 5h I lead for 7. He makes it $15 total.

    Me?...

I call now. The numbers mean he is loose preflop and fairly passive, right? Then I don't checkraise him all in on the turn, otherwise I do.

    hmmmn are you serious?

Getting over 4-1 for your money from my calculations so I am calling every time and evaluate from the turn. If you don't hit and he bets, considering he is tight then I let it go unless I feel I am getting odds of course.

This is definitely a call, your getting very close to 4 to 1 pot odds and your 4.1 to 1 to hit the nut flush on the turn. He must like his hand so your implied odds make this an easy call. If you don't hit check the turn and fold if you don't get the same odds to call and see the river.

Call and hope you make a flush or he gives you another easy call on the turn with yet another baby bet. Then hit your flush on the river and take all this muppets money...

Is re-raising him a valid option?

Well it is but it basically commits your stack here and now, i.e. the only sort of re-raise available to you is to make it 30-40 which will basically pot commit you, if he calls you're pushing the turn no matter what falls, and since he's obviously happy with his hand he'll more than likely push here and now, in which case you'll have to call again. I'd say he has something like a set or an over pair and doesn't have a clue how to play it.

Where as if you call now, the pot currently is 31.50 and it's 8 to call giving you 3.9:1 on your money, it's just over 4:1 to hit your flush on the turn so it's an easy call.

On the turn you can see what falls and then decide what you expect him to do to a check or a bet and play accordingly, if he always min-raises you could lead for something like $10 - $20 and if he min raises again you'll be getting 7:1 (on a $10 bet) or 5:1 (on a $20 bet) both lovely bets and both ignoring the implied odds that you're almost guaranteed.

If you expect him to bet smallish after a check then maybe do that, i.e. once he doesn't bet more than $20 you can safely call (getting 3:1 on your money but he's probably committed to his hand and the rest will go in on the river if you make your flush, and hence your implied odds make it an OK call.

But generally the turn play would be the same old answer as always, i.e. it depends on alot of factors.

    What did you do anyway??

depending on the player i call and re-evaluate the turn. re-raising might get him to slow down on the turn thus giving you two chances to hit you flush, and cracking him. i wouldnt rule him off aces here btw.

i called his raise. Turn was a spade. I lead half pot. He called. River was a nothing card. I lead half pot again, he folded after a think.

Is there a more profitable way of playing this?

I think you could Check-Call the turn and lead the river. if he checks behind he probably still pays you off if you lead the river
