    Hi All,

Can anyone help me on this. Im looking for a dos command (or any other way) to delete certain file types from all sub-directories in a certain folder. For example to delete all gif files but leave the rest in place - any ideas?

    Thanks!:)

in the "or any other way" section....

in windows explorer, right click, search for *.gif, highlight them all, right click, delete. :)

Or go to search select the folder you want to search in and enter *.gif as your search, then Ctrl+A and hit Shift+Del

I dont have a dos command in front of me (Linux user) but maybe what Khannie suggests isnt that far off target! if you do a
    dir /s *.<filetype>
    or is it
    dir *.<filetype> /s
it will list all the files of that type, (I think) including the sub directories so you may be able to replace dir with delete.
    http://www.computerhope.com/delhlp.htm
has a syntax of the delete command
    Hope thats of some help
