    I don't know much about martial arts, but surely the person performing the move would have some idea that their opponents spine is maybe bending a little too much? :confused:

    The whole thing probably happened so quickly that the guy in the blue suit didn't realise what was happening.

    That video clip is about 3 years old, and he didnt break his back. I think the story was he popped a rib and got a scare with his neck but was fine. One of Chris B's students was at that tournament when it happened. Why people want to put that on the web is beyond me.

    Yeah, it's mainly the video I'm looking at though... not sure what move he was trying to do... maybe he didn't see that the other guys head was kinda stuck on the mat... as a complete outsider to MA, I find it hard to understand exactly where it went wrong versus the intention.

    Anyway, unfortunate thing for all concerned... did/will they both recover?
