Villian has been at the table for about 15 minutes and has played tight.

I don't think he's going to re-raise me with 10 10, JJ but obviously I could be mistaken.

He re-raises me preflop and I called. He could be thinking I have 10 10 JJ QQ. He would probably think I'd three bet with KK.
He pretty much pots it on the flop....I think this means he has aces and is worried about me having the set with 10 10 JJ and wants to find out quickly. Now I know that sounds strange but I used to bet like that with aces on a scary board.....

Should I have half-potted the flop?
Should I have check called the flop? If so, what do I do on later streets after various scenarios?
    Should I three bet preflop?

Based on the fact that I think the villain is tight, is one of the options above (or some other option) better than others?

    Thoughts/Beratings

    Cheers.

I hate this. When you dont three bet preflop you seriously underrepresent your hand. Then on the flop you dont give any indication of having hit the board at all. I think your opponents range is much larger than you give him credit for. At the very least you need to lead this flop, if he raises you (or calls) then you can start narrowing his range down.

    Yeah. woops.

I was planning on check calling a flop bet and then taking it from there but then the pot bet on the flop threw me.....and convinced me I was beat.

I think I played the hand badly and that in general I give too much respect to tight opponents.

He can't have 10 10, JJ after making the pot bet....so what? QQ? AK of spades? (unlikey I think).......Just really thought it was aces.

Who was the villian in that hand?

I think it's less likely villian has a set or AA here because he bet so much.

If your read was that he had aces then you should go with that, but I would never put someone firmly on aces given their actions so far. As long as you dont fold KK regularly in spots like this its fine.

If your opponent is Fastmachine you made a good fold.

I would have thought AK was a real possibility here. It's a pot sized, semi-bluff "PFO" bet.

I would have raised the flop again, and come out shooting on the flop, if only to block his flop bet. If you get called, then start to wonder if here has AA.

Overpairs on a scary board are a real shirt-loser.

your thinking is on the right track i think but you folded here too early with out asking any questions.
basically you assumed because you got reraised and villain is thight then he must have AA.
    a better thinking would be:
welll i think this player is tight and would only reraise with TT+,AK.
after the flop im only a ahead of QQ and AK in his range .seeing that you have two Ks then AK is less likely .
there are 6 ways pre flop he could have QQ(which you beat) and 18 ways he could have TT,JJ,AA that beat you .so your not really looking good.
however this is all assuming the villains range is really that tight.he has position on you as well so i dont think his range would be as tight as you say but if you have reasons to believe it is then the fold is not a bad one.
however for future its good idea to let him know how strong your hand is at some stage and see his reactions and take it from there.
