Posted this in the 'Prison Break' forum but worth posting here too..
Fantastic price from an company i've never had direct dealings with before but apparently they're typically very good (though hit and miss at one point)... but welcome to hear complaints.

    Complete Season 1

Costs $ 31.98CAD (Canadian Dollars) which works out at approx €22.35 (and includes free shipping).

Won't get it cheaper than this anyhoo!

The calculation of the actual shipping option fees will be done as soon as the products are shipped. Therefore, the initial estimated total of initial order may vary. Thus, we will contact you at the time of shipment if the amount is insufficient requesting that you resubmit your credit card information. Also, credits and rebates will only be applied at the time of shipment.

    DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!!

They will take your money and never send you the set. They will ignore all emails from you. You will eventually have to do a charge back from your credit card company.

They are officially a bunch of crooks. If you order, you will regret it.

I have to agree. After placing an order with them (giving them the benefit of the doubt) and waiting 6 weeks I cancelled it and got the credit. Then stupidly placed a second order with them but they charged my card again instead of taking from the credit. I eventually had to cancel this and do a return (they still hav'nt credited my credit card after 6 weeks). The crazy thing about this is they charge you a cancellation charge, eventhough they say its in stock and you give up waiting for it, cancel the order, they charge you this cancellation fee!......free money for them. How they get away with this I don't know.
I hate them with a passion.

    Hi Garred

What you need to do is contact your credit card company and start a chargeback. It is the ONLY way you will see your money again. I did this with my last order and they didn't even raise an arguement - just refunded the cash automatically.

The longer you leave it, the less likely the credit card company will allow this.

No one is getting refunds from them. And they are charging you for the refund - they are deliberately stealing money. They try to stall as much as they possibly can so by the time you actually do go to your credit card company, it's too late!

They sent out shipping notifications last April on all outstanding orders - again to stall people from trying to get their money back. Not one single person out of the thousands of people who ordered actually recieved anything.

If you don't start a chargeback, you won't see your money.

    Hope this helps!

    Ian

Nah - I never quite come across a company so blatently ripping people off.

Shame, I would have loved the show at this price!

Thanks Ian, I thought this but again (stupidly) I gave them the benefit of the doubt with crediting my credit card.
Sorry Basquille for poo-pooing over your thread.

Agree about the comments that dvdsoon being a bunch of gangsters. Also appear to trade under the name dvdimport.com who kindly never sent me the new Family Guys series. Avoid!

Sorry to harp on about this lads but just looking for some advice. I have been on to MBNA about the chargeback but they say that I have to get an email from Dvdsoon stating that they will return this credit. When I applied for the credit to be returned to my credit card (through my dvdsoon account) I did not get a confirmation email from them eventhough my credits were wiped. MBNA are saying they need this, is this true? Is this the same with your credit card companies?

Again sorry Basquille but its just some of the guys/girls here have been through this so just looking for a bit of advice.

    Thats a tough one Garred...

You will not receive an email from DVDSoon - no matter how many times you email them. I would contact MBNA again and tell them that you have tried calling them and emailing them and they will not respond.

They might ask for copies of the emails you send to DVDSoon - so of you have these, it should help.

Then maybe threaten to change credit card companies if they won't help you.

Let me know how you get on -

And indeed Basquille - sorry for using your thread so much!

Cheers Ian. Yeah thats the problem I have no record/email from DVDSoon to say they will credit my card and MBNA are saying I need this. If other credit card companies are doing the chargeback anyway and MBNA are being a bit unreasonable I will cancel my card with them, go elsewhere and chalk this down to experience. Who are you with and did they handle the chargeback better?

With AIB or BOI all they ask is that you sign a declaration that you received no goods and they do the rest. No fannying about like you describe from MBNA.
