    From Slashdot :

CNET reports that the British Government today attributed the country's 22% rise in street crime to iPod robberies. This has hit CNET close to home. Guy Cocker, a CNET (Gamespot) journalist based in London, was mugged last week. The muggers held 'a semi-automatic weapon to the back of Cocker's head and told him, "we're taking all your stuff"'. CNET's solution to the problem is suggestions on how to conceal your iPod from attackers. These include 'The gaffer tape method,' 'The Coke can method,' and 'The Christopher Walken method.'

Its pretty much the same as having a mobile attached to your belt for all to see. Just keep it well out of sight. :)

    The Christopher Walken method
Pulp Fiction fans will remember Christopher Walken's speech to the child of a man killed in World War II. His father had asked Walken's character to look after his watch when the two were captured and held in a Vietnamese prison camp. Wanting to keep the watch safe from the guards, "he hid it in the one place he knew he could hide somethin'". Anti-mugger rating: 10/10

    nice ...

The danger with MD is that the mugger will go after you again to give it back and avoid the recycling charge.

    lolzers!!

Seriously though, the way some people carry their iPods or mobiles is just asking to be robbed.
I once saw a girl text using her moible at arms length at the hal'penny bridge crossing as it was red for pedestrians... along came a scally on a bike and just snatched it from her hand.
Some of us are going around carrying well over 700 Euro of electrial goods on our person these days. No wonder wallets arent getting a look in anymore. Tis madness!!

'Punch me cos I'm a twat'.

I cannot explain it but only total arseholes wear their mobile phones on their belt.

I've found that also applies to keys for some reason.

what makes it funnier is it says World War two, and then two lines down it says Held in a vietnamese Prison Camp, , so thats how Hitler lost the war, the economics of trabnsporting POWS to south east asia crippled the reich :D

you are of course correct, it was the vietnam war

    Ah, you're ok.

If you're wearing shorts you've got to be cool.

    haha,

We have a rule at work that when it gets above 29° we can wear shorts. At 39° C we don't have to go in at all :)

I still wear mine, probably 'cause I haven't been bothered replacing them (even though their quality is pretty crap), use my iPod every time I leave the house for over a year and have never had a problem.
That said, I take out the headphones and put them in my pocket any time I'm unlucky enough to have to walk through a dodgy area.

As much as I'd like to grunt at women without reprisal and drink loads of Volvic water (especially if they have the flavoured stuff), I'm afraid I don't.

My Zen Micro broke a few weeks ago, so I've been forced to downgrade back to my Minidisc...
