EAGLÉ - The Equality Alliance of Gays & Lesbians in Éire are officially launching on Friday, 21st July 2006 at 6.30pm.

The newly built WHITES HOTEL ( http://www.whiteshotelwexford.com/) are sponsoring us the use of their luxurious new conference facilities.

We have a limited number of invites still available so please text or email Val on 085 1383798 or val23wex@hotmail.com with the number in your group and we will see what we can do.

We are adjourning to La Speranza (Cafe Bar) at about 9.00 for the after-launch party. This co-incides with the now fortnightly "outinwexford" social group that go out the 1st & 3rd Friday of every month who will also be going to La Speranza, so if you don't make the launch, come along for the after launch bash.

EAGLE has been set up to help transform the huge Gay & Lesbian population of Ireland into more of a community. We will be opening a drop in centre as soon as suitable funding comes through and shortly opening an information hotline for people to ring for help, information or just a chat.

This phoneline will specifically be aimed towards the rural community who do not have access to already existing centres in Dublin, Cork or Galway.

We have started in Wexford and will be branching out to surrounding counties in the next few months, hopefully getting the support of already existing clubs, and where groups do not already exist we will be setting them up. Eventually we hope to have a presence in all 32 counties.

We will be fighting for the rights of all GLBT people, providing much needed services and basically making things better for all. Our EAGLE membership is already over 200 which include straight people as well as family members and friends of the GLBT population. This trend will be continued as we will not be excluding anybody from joining.

With over 100 people attending the EAGLÉ launch tomorrow evening, of varying popularity and different persuasions(it's up to you how to make out that list)including but to name a few:

There's bound to be fireworks akin to the show put on at the opening of the Opera Festival every year in Wexford so if anyone would like to join us please call or text Val on 085 1383798.

An after launch bash is also on the cards when be adjourn at about 8.00pm and hook up with the hugely successful Gay & Lesbian social group - Out in Wexford - in La Speranza for the best party of the year, so if your not able to make the launch be sure to join us later. For the younger members the new Wexford youth club - Sphere - meets every Thursday from 6.30 pm to 8 pm at the FDYS hall in Wexford town. For LGBTQ 16 to 25-year-olds and their friends. The aim of the group is to create a warm and friendly drop in space for young people in the Wexford area. 'Sphere' is supported by the Ferns Diocesan Youth Service.
