Ruta Grav. or Ruta Graviolans is available in all good chemists. It releived my achilles tendonitis in about 20 mins and curred it in no time at all. I bought it to "prove" homeopathy was a load of voodoo BS. Turns out I was totally wrong, I swear by Ruta Grav. now. Its only about €6 so its well worth a try.

    Peace

P.S. My achilles tendonitis was so bad I could hardly walk, let alone hope on one leg!

Knew an older TKD instructor who snapped both his achillies tendons at different times. Once it occurred during a tournament, and the other time during a regular workout. When asked, he told me that his orthopediac surgeon had told him that the literature on this tendon condition suggested that "males" that were "over 45" were at risk, but that little else was known for certain why it occurred. This TKD instructor said he was completely stretched out, and did proper warmups before the tendon injury occurred in each instance.

I thought homeopathy was bull****. Then i tried rubbing Arnaica on bruises. Thought Homeopathy was not bull****. Tried rubbing butter on bruises. Thought that Homeopathy was bull****. From my experience homeopathic creams seem to work on bruises because the base fats in the cream work on bruises.

THats great cave dave, but arnica can be taken as a cream or as a pill. Ruta grav. to my knowledge can only be taken as a pill. So while you rubbing butter works or your bruises dismisses arnicas effectiveness for you, it has no effect what so ever on the effect ruta grave has on me.

Infact, for all you know, your body is sympathetic to butter. Anyway, as I've said before on the subject of diet... I dont care what this or that person says on the subject, I don't use secondary are worse research. I do my own primary research and keep what works for me.

Seriously, you cant have read more than the first few paragraphs of that article? It hardly ruins the party.

    Peace

Not sure where you're based but my girlfriend has an acupuncture clinic here in Cork city. You can contact her on www.corkacupunctureclinic.com and I'm sure she'd be happy to answer your questions.

see another chartered physiotherapist who specialises in sports medecine to get a definite diagnosis.A very important part of achilles rehab is eccentric strengthening of tissue to withstand shock absorption upon foot landing.Other treatment would include specific types of massage, ultrasound, stretching ,relative rest ,discovery of predisposing factors, foot orthotics and management of return to training.Tendonitis tends to be long lasting and so may take many months of treatment to resolve.

    The debate about orthotics rages.
Basically, they support what the musculature in the foot is failing to support. However if the orthotic takes over the responsibility of that same support, therafter the musculature is essentially unemployed and degrades.
I'd recommend, regular deep tissue massage for achilles tendonitis. Remember, a tendon is the part of the muscle that attatches to the bone. Intense treatment to the calf muscles will benefit hugely!
Dont know where youre based so cant recommend individuals.
My advice to people is, you get a car serviced regularly, even if something is wrong with it or not. Do the same for your body, get occasional treatments whether you (think you)need them or not.

    hello

the original post dates back a year at this stage, i only recently resumed training, just running, skipping, bounds etc, havent gone back to muaythai yet, planning to go back in about two weeks.
I originally went to a well know sports injury clinic, had 15 physio sessions, a meeting with doctor specialising in sports injuries who gave me a cortisone injection(i was desperate at this stage).
I had no change in my injury whatsoever, well i lie, it improved for a bout 3 weeks after the injection but then went back to being painfull.

A few months ago, after months of resting my achilles(as recommended by physio) i asked my local gp on the off chance he might know someone who could help, he referred me to an orthopedic surgeon who in turn sent to a physical therapist. This guy looked at my injury and said he wud sort it in no time.
After 8 sessions of painfull deep tissue massage (the first two sessions were fooking unbearable!) and eccentric lenghtening exercises my achilles is now back to its pre injury condition.
i go back every month or so now for treatment on the calf to ged rid of any tension or knots in the muscle. Its pricey but worth every cent imo.

Hopefully come mid september il write another post saying ive got through a few sessions in bridgestone. 15 months of injury is frustrating to say the least.

    cheers
