I got a pm off somebody with no posts...saying they had looked through my posts, and saw the advice i gave, sounded like i had "been around the block" (wtf!) and some other random stuff.....which i found quite strange.

Just wondering do people normally get random pm's from strange people...or...what...?

I have never got any random pm's(though as of late, I have heard a few people talking about it), if they are bothering you, contact one of the admins.

Sometimes, back in the day when my journal dealie was listed on the front page, I'd get the most totally rrrrrrrrandom pm's from posters I'd never seen or heard of. That was cool.

Its died down an awful lot lately, its now mostly the hate mail, which I don't get half enough of.

Femmy, personally I'd forward the pm to an admin. Sender not having any posts and the pm content sets off all the alarm bells for me.

no random pm's, but i did have some guy recognise me in the pub. he said he knew who i was from the "know your nerds" thread. he mentioned something about me having fairly strong views on certain things.
i asked what name he posted under and he told me he was banned a few years back.
then something else happened, but i can't remember it because i was fairly drunk at the time.

I tend to get a lot of PMs from strangers asking for advice about this, that and the other... oh and the occasional national DJ who gets upset when people say nasty things about them on the internet.

i've gotten a few random ones out of the blue occasionally. usually asking about my tattoos. i did make a good friend as a result of random pming though.. oh and i scored once as a result of it too...
