Ive ordered from them a bit, them and lik-sang are quite similar. Generally great prices, but sometimes the delivery times can be a bit long. But Ill be ordering from them again and would recommend them

Buy the US or Euro versions and they'll be ok, once your Xbox can play NTSC games for the US ones of course. And the P&P is usually round $3

    how long for shipping roughly.
    thanks

I think I was lucky at a little over 2 weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,860 ✭✭✭Julez

From the games I've got (Moto GP, Call of Duty 2, Hitman (Prey is on its way)) the postage has been about 2 weeks a little over, which isn't all that bad, wait an extra week for about a €35 saving! Games and manuals are all in english, it says on the site anyway when you click on a specific game, not all games are region free, most people know this but, just saying in case you didnt! Alot of people seem to get pal sent out anyway, my hitman was pal ans my call of duty says ntsc/j on the box but the disk says pal! All my orders have been 100% perfect, no problems at all... so use them!

So are we OK on an Irish xbox with any of the ntsc-u ones then, or do you only get the ones that say they are pal as that list is actually fairly short on their site?

they are a very good site to order xbox 360 region free games , xbox 360 jap / asian console's from and games from thoese regions.

i use the site to order in xbox 360 region free games for around €35 delivered , delivery takes about two weeks but is worth the wait over paying double the price in your local game store .

Buy games that are region free while you can, I have no proof, but im sure that very soon all games will be region protected and NONE will be region free.

Microsoft left it at the developers discretion as to whether they want the games region free or not so it won't be enforced at all.

Another thumbs up for this site.

Have gotten 3 Xbox 360 games from them and Moto GP and Prey have been ordered

Great site only thing i can say is dont bulk order where you have to use a box to get it shipped as i have had to do this twice and it has been stopped by customs. and had to forward them invoices. but didnt get charged by em for anything

for non-pal games i presume its all todo with your telly being "NTSC-U/C" compatible" is there a way to test the telly via the xbox360 ?

Play asia says prey is PAL
    http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dw-49-en-15-prey-70-1gxl.html

    and
Prey is US$ 38.90 (around 30.00 euro) with worldwide free delivery at the moment

No, I'd say your xbox just wont play it if you have a non region free game!

id say your right. I got the Love football demo from the jap live and it would play. it poped up a tab on right of the screen and said that it was the wrong region and i need to contact support. so it is probably the same for full games.

Don't they only pay any attention to packages that claim to have a value over 50? You might have got away with it if they had been shipped seperately.

Yep, I was over-eager and ordered the two in the one go.... Ah well, it won't happen again!

well that makes 3 of us as i just got that letter today for €23.87

customs! ... oh bugger, never heard of anyone getting caught for customs in Ireland. Is 50euro the limit ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,860 ✭✭✭Julez

Has this only happened to people who ordered two at a time?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,204 ✭✭✭Kenny_D

Yeah did anyone get customs charges with a single game? Hope not because I just got Moto GP delivered a short while ago

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,809 ✭✭✭Stokolan

what I've noticed from my orders if you get single items from play asia ya should be fine. I've got 5 games from there ordered all in single orders and got them fine. I have ordered a few ds games in bulk and had them shipped in a box and have got stopped by customs.

Only charged for one which was over $80 and have got charged by customs as follows. 5.78 customs duty, 14.71 VAT, 5.00 Post Office handeling fee.

I had one package at a higher value that i didnt get charge for as i used a coupon i had for a refund of a cancelled order :p so the total value of the order was like US$20 so they didnt charge me :p

So its probably best to get single items.

I think if its under US$40 there is no charged no 100% sure tho.

Mmm. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that people buying Live Subscriptions and Live Points vouchers meant for Asia were having serious problems with them iin the UK.

Unlucky! I made the exact same order and were delivered to my home adress last week without customs charges.
I then got my parents to post them up to my apartment in Dublin.

Since I don't have a post box, either An Post have lost the package or one of the other apartment tenants has swiped them.
I'll give it another few days before I start banging on doors.

Just go onto ebay.com (not ebay.ie) and look for a 12 month sub, u should get one for around €30, but before you pay, ask if they will email you the code!

The asia games are in english anyway, if you look at www.lik-sang.com the japanese games are in japanese but all the asian section games are in english....

How long did your games takes to arrive clover?
I personally seem to go to videogamesplus.ca all the time for my games, they give an up to date blog on region free and not region free games for 360 etc
Last time I got my game in 3 days and that is from canada, althought the shipping costs a euro or two still is very very cheap.

Customs told me any item over the value of 22 euro is liable to 21 percent customs.

posted on the 14th of july and arrived today  the delay was due to customs and it was the first i'v had with games from play-asia.

and to make matters worse my hitman game was loose in the case when i opened it and has a few bad scratches on it

To make it even worse that 21% will be applied to the value that customs decide the item is worth and not the price that you actually paied for it and also on the cost of the delivery as well if they spot that there is a few quid to be made on that too.

It is now up to the game developer if the game is going to region coded. EA for example have done it. Take NCAA 2007 College Football is region 1 only.

I have both a US and Irish Xbox and NCAA 2007 will only work on the US one as for all the other EA games that I have. It seems also alot of the new games in states are now region coded as I have about 10 games from the States and none of them work on the Irish Xbox.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,856 ✭✭✭Clover

well if a game is region free all the better as it give more choice and better value to the gamer but for me i'm cutting back on the games i buy and i'll also play a wait and see game on the region free state of a game.
